The S60’s maneuverability on the road amazed us, but ultimately, we found it to lack the steering feel of the best sport sedans and the connection between driver and vehicle. In comparison tests with four-cylinder competitors, the Volvo’s more conservative driving style placed it last among sportier options like the Alfa Romeo Giulia and BMW 3-series. No, the S60 is more of a luxury vehicle than a sports car.
Up to 26 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway are the ratings for the nonhybrid S60. The plug-in hybrid model can travel 41 miles on electricity alone and is estimated to get 74 MPGe.
