With a significant update, the 2025 Honda Prologue—the company’s sole fully electric SUV—will most likely start its second calendar year. An important milestone in the company’s journey to sell cars with zero emissions by 2040 is the Prologue. The 2025 Prologue has a range of up to 296 miles on a single charge, much like the first generation. The Prologue is powered by the same Ultium battery pack that powers GM’s new EVs, most notably the Blazer EV, with which it shares components. It is reliant on an infrastructure created in partnership with General Motors.

How about Design? In Honda’s range, the Prologue is positioned above the CR-V and shares proportions with the mid-size Passport. The Prologue seen here includes a panoramic sunroof, basic LED lighting, and 21-inch alloy wheels. Its interior design incorporates features from previous Honda vehicles, including an infotainment system shaped like an upright tablet, a smooth dashboard, and an uncluttered center console. The ZDX, an electric SUV with a plusher interior and greater power, will soon be available from Honda’s luxury brand Acura, if you’re looking for something a bit better.

2025 Honda Prologue Interior
What does the inside look like? You’ll find standard amenities that make every drive a pleasure, like an excellent 11.3-inch touchscreen for quick access to your favorite apps and navigation, in addition to an 11-inch digital instrument cluster that displays all the information you need at a glance.
Chevy buttons, switches, and knobs can move around, and not only do they look out of place in a Honda showroom, they can also be difficult to operate. The Prologue’s wheelbase is 8.0 inches longer than the CR-V, and the EV model is also 5.0 inches wider, resulting in a larger cabin with more loading space.

Engine, Performance & MPG
The Honda Prologue is available with one motor producing 212 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque, having front-wheel drive, or with two motors producing 288 horsepower and all-wheel drive. The dual-motor variant gave us sufficient acceleration during our first test drive, but the Prologue isn’t as powerful as competitors like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Kia EV6. The 288-hp variant should reach 60 mph in 6.1 seconds, according to our estimates, while the 212-hp version will do so slightly more slowly, in 6.7 seconds.
The Prologue isn’t a straight-line speedster, but perhaps that will work for its intended audience. Although the Prologue has solid handling and a comfortable ride, it lacks the tactile sensation of other Honda vehicles in its steering. When we have an opportunity, we will move the Prologue to our test track and update this tale with instrumented test findings.
In our opinion, the most efficient Honda Prologue is the front-wheel-drive EX and Touring trims, which have a city rating of up to 107 MPGe. If the opportunity arises, we’ll take the Prologue on a fuel-efficient interstate route at 75 mph to assess its efficiency and range.
2025 Honda Prologue Safety Features
Now let’s talk safety. The Honda Sensing package of features safety and driver-assistance systems will undoubtedly be standard in the 2025 Prologue. The package includes lane-keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic emergency braking.
