Brabus is tuning a pair of Porsches that will excite many enthusiasts. The two cars are the Taycan Turbo S and the 911 Turbo S. The two couldn’t be more different, but that didn’t stop Brabus from making them.
Brabus offers two tunes for the 911 Turbo S coupe and cabriolet. The less powerful P38S-720 upgrades Porsche’s 3.8-liter flat-six to 720 horsepower (520 kW) and 664 pound-feet (900 Newton-meters) of torque. That’s up from the car’s 650 hp (478 kW) and 541 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque.

The P38S-820 upgrade does exactly what its name suggests – increasing power to 820 hp (603 kW). The car’s torque also goes up to 701 lb-ft (950 Nm). Both packages use Brabus’ optional control unit for the engine, which increases injection, ignition and boost pressure.
The performance boost is matched by visual upgrades that keep all the power under control. Brabus offers a revised front fascia that reduces front axle lift without affecting active aerodynamics. The rear has a large diffuser cut for the four 3.9-inch (100-millimetre) pipes of the Inconel exhaust system.
Brabus offers customized 911 Turbo S with 21- and 22-inch wheels. Inside, the tuner offers a choice of glossy or matte finishes for the carbon parts, while offering glass for various internal components.
The Taikan improvements are all visible, but they’re not just for show. Brabus adds new bodywork like a carbon fiber front splitter designed to reduce front axle lift at high speeds. A three-piece rear spoiler and new rear diffuser do the same at the rear to reduce rear axle lift. Carbon is big on the Brabus and the tuner uses it around the front cam, rocker sills and more.

Inside, Brabus adds some unique touches like branded dash plates and aluminum pedals. Brabus polishes various internal components such as switches, fans and other components. The tuner also gives off carbon dioxide. The 2021 Porsche Taycan Turbo S has been revealed, and this model year brings new colors and a magazine subscription to a few extra features that change faster than before.
The Tycon was revealed a year ago and goes on sale in late 2019, so you might be wondering what Porsche could change so soon to warrant a full-blown press release? Actually, a lot. The 2021 model year crossover comes with several updates in terms of performance, technology and looks.
First of all, go for the top-spec Turbo S and with launch control on, the 0-124 mph (200 km/h) run takes just 9.6 seconds. This is an improvement of 0.2 seconds compared to the 2020 Taycan Turbo S. The faster sprint performance has also clearly had a positive effect on the quarter-mile time, which now takes 10.7 seconds, or one-tenth of a second better than before.
The 2021 Taycan is offered with an optional color display that can be configured to show the navigation display, power gauges and additional driver-selected presets. It is divided into three parts, the main display and the status screen, coupled with a customizable temporary content area that can display, for example, calls or voice control commands.

Porsche’s electric sedan also gets SmartLift, which comes standard if you order the Tycon with adaptive air suspension. The front lift system allows the driver to preset when it automatically engages, similar to the front stem lift offered by the Corvette C8. Peep at Zuffenhausen says it’s more than that, as it adjusts the vehicle’s ride height to balance efficiency and comfort when driving on the highway.
Going by 2021MY comes an optional 22kW on-board charger that halves the time required to charge the battery compared to the standard 11kW charger. Porsche is also adding a new function for charging the battery, while limiting the charging power to 200 kW.
Support for over-the-air updates allows Porsche to offer features on demand. These are mostly optional features that Taycan owners get as a monthly subscription, including Active Lane Keep Assist for €19.50 in Germany, where Porsche Intelligent Range Manager (PIRM) costs €10.72. Customers can get it forever with a one-time payment of €808.10 and €398.69. Power Steering Plus is also available as an on-demand feature, but is only offered as a €320.71 purchase option. All prices apply in Germany.
Changes for the model year include a standard digital radio, an optional carbon sport design package for all Taycan versions and seven new paint options: Ice Gray Metallic, Coffee Beige Metallic, Mahogany Metallic, Chalk, Neptune Blue, Cherry Metallic and Frozenberry Metallic.

The new Plug & Charge function allows for convenient charging and payment without the need for a card or app: insert the charging cable and Tycon Plug & Charge establishes an encrypted connection with compatible charging stations. Additional innovations include flexible online bookable functions (Functions on Demand, FOD), color displays and an on-board charger with a charging capacity of up to 22 kW. In the future, the adaptive air suspension will have a SmartLift function.
Taycan Turbo S acceleration values have also been improved. With Launch Control, it now accelerates from zero to 200 km/h in 9.6 seconds, reducing the previous time by 0.2 seconds. It runs the quarter mile in 10.7 seconds (previously 10.8 seconds). As always, the Tycon repeatedly proves its performance, which is the hallmark of a sports car.
